A member asked:

How early can a urine test at the doctors detect pregnancy?

It depends upon the type of test performed or ordered. Most urine pregnancy tests in the doctor's office can determine positive tests 3 to 5 days after a missed period. A blood quantitative pregnancy test is very accurate at the time of the time just before a period is missed as it picks up and counts the level of the pregnancy hormone present.

Several days after your missed period is the best time to test.
