A member asked:

Does cardiac pulsation is the only way to determine fetal survival at 6weeks and 3days of pregnancy? a 27yr woman with 6weeks and 3days estimated gestational age with last menstrual period revealed following reports on transvaginal ultra-sonography?

At around 5-7 weeks of pregnancy, a transvaginal ultrasound will be able to identify a fetal heartbeat. If there is no fetal heartbeat, a repeat visit one week later may be more successful. If no heartbeat is heard at this time, it is assumed that the fetus is not viable.
