Daily exercise will definitely help, specifically if overweight. Meds may still be needed and this is where staying with your doc becomes critical as decisions regarding starting blood pressure meds, goals and possible adjustments have to be timely and accurate.

The diagnosis of hypertension should be made only after repeated measurements as recommended by the various medical societies. A single measurement made without these precautions is unreliable. If confirmed,appropriate treatment should include salt restriction, weight reduction and regular exercise in addition to medications. Attention to detail is vital.
