Unless you are eating extremely large amounts of food, the most likely cause is water retention. In females, hormonal fluctuations, pregnancy, inflammation, certain medications and infections can all cause water retention. Decrease your salt intake, increase your fluid intake, and watch for symptoms of swelling and bloating.
