This is considered a minor fracture of the ankle involving the fibula bone. Perhaps during the trauma you sustained some superficial nerve injury accounting for the foot and toe symptoms or associated swelling of foot or ankle compressed these nerves. I suspect in time these symptoms will resolve. Your treating MD or orthopedic specialist can better answer your question, however.
