No way to tell - one way or the other. You (and the salon) have no idea who the previous customer who used that instrument was or what their HIV status is. Risk is probably very low, but if you are extremely nervous, best idea is to take post-exposure prophylaxis (Descovy in US) x 4 weeks. Generally very well tolerated.
