Translation=anovulation is the lack of an egg release when expected. It is not uncommon but does account for irregular cycles in many. Fertile egg release may occur at irregular times. This makes timing a pregnancy difficult. The average wait for a desired pregnancy with regular cycles is 6 mo, range weeks to a year. After a year evaluation of both parents an a fertility center is advised.

Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor.
