Presumably you mean contacting virus left behind on the handle. There is little or no risk; the virus is rarely if ever transmitted by contact with contaminated surfaces. Common sense suggests wiping using disinfectant alcohol gel after handling commonly touched surfaces and objects, like gas pump handles, doorknobs, and shopping carts. But there's very little risk if you forget.
