A member asked:

I have noticed my heart rate going down to low 40s and then will shoot up to 90 or higher. i am currently 32 weeks pregnant. my cardiologist thinks it might be pots but cant do anymore tests till after i have the baby. what should i do?

I assume your observations of heart rates are accurate. Did you have an outpatient Holter Monitor study to identify the nature of the cardiac rhythm when your heart rate was in low 40's? I think that is an inappropriate heart rate for pregnancy & could cause symptoms of lightheadedness, abnormal blood pressure & fatigue and could be caused by sick sinus syndrome or transient heart block. Follow up.
