A member asked:

Do i have to do hsg to diagnose cause of my secondary infertility?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Infertility can be primary or secondary & can have many causes, one of which is scarring of the Fallopian tubes (usually from a previous infection or surgery). A HSG (hysterosalpingogram) is a dye test that can determine if the tubes are patent (open) or not, & sometimes the procedure can actually help open the tube.
