: If periods are regular (24-32 days apart) , ovulation occurs fourteen days prior to the onset of the next period . If your expected period is "late", repeat the testing using a serum HCG test , 7-10 days after the home test. Stress (emotional, job or school related) can delay ovulation, which will delay onset of the next period.
