Nexplanon is an effective hormonal contraceptive. It lasts up to 3 years. It is more than 99% effective in preventing pregnancy. You are protected no matter where in your cycle you are. You are not unprotected and do not need Plan B. Hormonal Contraceptives do not protect against STD's. If you are concerned about STD's from your partner, have him wear a condom.
