CDC, Nexplanon sites say... (1) if implanted in the first 5 days after a menstrual period started, no extra contraceptive protection is needed, or (2) if implanted after 5 days since period bleeding started, a woman should abstain from sex or use additional contraceptive protection for the next 7 days. So if it's been 10 days, with option 1, no worries. But with option (2), need more protection.
