A member asked:

Hi, do i need to be on a low-protein diet if traces of protein are found in my urine due to diet? i'm pregnant and high risk and being checked for protein in my urine. doc advised spacing out protein rich foods to 3-4 day intervals?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Protein in urine more than 300 mg/ 24 hrs is significant proteinuria. It is not related to the amount of oral protein intake. It is due to kidney function or in context to preeclampsia or eclampsia. Protein which we ingest is not the protein that come out in urine, It is the one that is synthesized by liver I hope it hurts,
