Have brownish discoloration on only third and fourth finger of both hands (seems bilateral) no vertical or long dark lines or anything. discoloration is not on the whole nail but more so at the front and inner corner. what could this be?

24 hours ago I notice my ring finger had darker brown discoloration. It runs from knuckle to knuckle and irregular in the sides. It is only on the top of my hand and does not wrap around to my palm. I have no moles in that area, no pain, no swelling.
