A year ago, when the pandemic was new, it was feared that contamination of surfaces -- with dried respiratory fluids that contained virus -- might be a common source of infection. We now know that this is little or no risk. It still is wise to wash hands or use alcohol hand gel after handling things that might be contained (e.g., doorknobs, shopping cart handles). But little risk if you forget.
