Usually menstrual bleeding is observed prior to onset of cramping pain. At age 32, there is more thickening of the endometrial lining, so clots may form blocking the passage of initial bleeding, so when the clot is passed, the bleeding may be coincident to perceived bleeding. Ask your gyn about low dose oral contraceptives which will slow down cramping/bleeding accordingly.
