A "Complete Blood Count" (CBC) includes a count of both red blood cells (erythrocytes) that carry oxygen, and white blood cells (WBCs or leukocytes) that fight infections and perform other housekeeping duties. Leukocytosis means elevated WBCs which occurs if there's an infection or inflammation. Eosinophils are a type of WBC that are increased in allergic reactions and parasite infestations.
