While this is an unusually large weight loss, as long as you are not having other symptoms and are gaining some weight, there is no concern.

Weight loss is not uncommon following any major surgery. In the case of bypass surgery this may be more pronounced depending the length of time in intensive care, getting used to a bland diet, anxiety associated with a serious heart problem etc. During your follow - up evaluation by your cardiologist, you will be evaluated further if weight loss continues.
