Yes......No: Radiation therapy (in any of its possible versions) is a very important part of therapy for many cancers, be it by itself or as part of a combo with surgery and/or chemo. Bypass surgery does not treat cancer, it just helps manage symptoms caused by it (I'm assuming you mean bypassing an obstruction caused by cancer, not gastric bypass or coronary bypass!)
