Successful #4 root canal 2 yrs ago: canals nicely filled, no sensitivity cold/pressure/tap/infect, x-rays good. but "itchy"/tingling pain at top of tooth in it's center (maybe gum?) strongest after carbonated coke/not using sensitivity toothpaste?

When root canal therapy is performed there is no living nerve left in the tooth, so that tooth is not responding to cold or fizzy drinks, I suspect it is an adjacent tooth. Why not pop over to you dentist and ask him to check it out carefully.

After a root canal the standard of care treatment is to have a crown placed over the tooth so it won't crack .The crown will cover the gum area and possibly the pain will go away .If the persists than you could have a gum problem or other teeth could have a cavity.
