Let's assume you are in good health with no prior ankle problems and no history of diabetes. You have a Grade 1 Sprain. Treatment should be ice, strengthening, balance, possibly an ankle support brace. Consider PT. Listen to your body and back off any activity that makes more pain or swelling. No shock activity, e.g. running until healed which should take 1-2 weeks.
