Premenstrual Syndrome is common and involves abdominal pain, cramping, headaches, mood swings, nausea or muscle aches. It is caused by hormone fluctuations. Most Gynecologists will recommend that a person with severe PMS start on hormonal oral contraceptives, as they regulate the hormones and diminish the symptoms.
