You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods. I have found that a proctologist would be better to consult about ongoing anorectal problems as this is their only specialty. Gastroenterologists and even colorectal surgeons often don't delve into these conditions enthusiastically and don't provide follow-up well.
