In most cases of Genu Valgum, stretching, exercises and other strengthening physical therapy along with shoe inserts and braces are the first line of treatment. If the patient's condition does not improve with these, Surgery is the last resort. In children, the surgery involves placing a metal plate that helps the leg grow in the right direction. In adults, an internal permanent brace is used.
