I had gingivectomy on one tooth with a scalpel method . the dentist didnt dress the wound or provide me any prescriptions. the next day i have a thick film of blood on my tooth can i remove it ? should i be concerned or contact my dentist?

This has to be a slightly complicated answer. If you have a deep gum pocket, and enough width of attached gingiva to allow for sufficient attached gum (2-3 mm min) to remain after the excision, there is no harm and a benefit that can be achieved by performng this proceeedure. The would will bleed for a day or so and can be bushed gently and Of course a warm salt water rinse will help emmensely.
