A member asked:

I currently take 12mg of chlorpheniramine every 4 hours. what would the equivalent of allegra be? thank you?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Chlorpheniramine is a short acting antihistamine whereas Allegra is a long-acting, relatively none sedating antihistamine that lasts approximately 24 hours per dose. The over-the-counter dose of Allegra that would be compatible would be 180 mg, it does come in a generic form also.
