I don't believe that fatty tissue is causing the discomfort. Low back pain that radiates down the leg is characteristic of a herniated intervertebral disc. Flank pain ( which is higher up) can be from a kidney problem, such as a stone, but radiates toward the groin& not the leg. If symptoms persist consult your physician for evaluation and advice.
