Second dose timing: These two vaccines are virtually identicial in effectiveness, side effects, etc. The only difference is that the second dose is given 3 weeks after the first dose for Pfizer and 4 weeks with Moderna. The only reason to prefer either one is whether 3 weeks or 4 weeks is more convenient (for example, if you are traveling).

The Pfizer and Moderna COVID 19 vaccine are both mRNA vaccines so they don't contain any live viruses. They have similiar side effect profiles, mechanism of action, contraindications and outcomes. One is not better than the other. Both are very beneficial and either could save your life.
