A member asked:

3 weeks 3 days ago i had colonoscopy, gynae said i have erosion and applied silver nitrate. i bled 5 days after/no other concerns. today i had internal ultrasound check pelvic area and i bled (bright red) lady was concerned and said speak gp. worried?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Silver nitrate causes lysis or destruction of the cells which are at wrong place at wrong time. It takes time for healthy epithelium to grow. If the ultrasound probe touched the raw area on cauterized part, it can bleed for 2-4 days decrease if gradually. If it is still bright red and copious bleeding at the 3-4 days, you should see the doctor to finish local causes and check for coagulopathy.
