A member asked:

I have been taking modafinal (provigil) 200mg twice a day for 10 years. recently my primary care doctor retired. my new primary doctor refuses to give this to me. i had great effects from it. this is unfair. why would he do this.?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Great question! As a primary care doctor I inherit case like this all the time. The concern is this medication is not the safe as one is gets older. The other common reason is to understand why was it originally given. Was it given to keep some one alert or for the reasons it was made narcolepsy, sleep apnea, shift work sleep disorder, MS. You may be seeing a doctor looking at its benefit vs risks
