Small lump in the left side of the groin area, sensitive to the touch. can i visit my normal gp or do i need to see a specialist like a urologist?

I would start by visiting your family doctor. There are many things that could cause that for you. Your family doctor may be able to treat it for you, or they would be able to refer you to a specialist that certainly would be able to help you. Now if you have a sharp increase in pain before you are able to see your family doctor, I would go directly to the emergency room for evaluation.
