My 2 and a half year old had a cough & runny nose 2 weeks ago, and now has a runny nose again! i dont want him to go on antibiotics again but need to make sure it doesnt go to his chest. any suggestions?

Let it be: I see no reason any 2 yo with a cold/cough would be put on antibiotics. It does not prevent anything & would allow drug resistant germs to cause problems is some occasions. Good nutrition & hydration support natural healing. Beyond that just monitor for the occasional secondary issue like ear infections that actually do need antibiotics.
