Yes: There are 2 reasons that, eyeball length and curvature of the lens. So yes with age apparently nearsightedness becomes less and the curvature of the lens changes also.

I recently did my eye exam. I heard doctor saying to his assistant 175 axis in my right eye. But when they gave me prescription card, it was written 179 axis in my right eye. Does axis 175 and 179 make considerable difference? Do I need to re-do exam?
