After a cold i get a dry shallow feeling in my lungs accompanied by shortness of breath when i wake up, i'm hungry, in crowded places like classroom and when i'm in a car this take years to recover can it be that i have an underlying lung illness ?

It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help.
