Redness of the skin may be associated with a Staph infection. Monitor temperature and discuss nasal saline spray with your PCP. If there is a temperature elevation, consider further testing. Keep the skin clean and dry, discuss topical versus oral antibiotics with your PCP. Watch for swelling, redness, drainage and fever. Wear a mask and wash hands before handling the baby.
