Ureteral stents: Most common reason for stent placed in ureter is kidney stones. After stent placement, blood in urine can range from light pink tinged urine to a dark red like wine. It can last several weeks depending on healing of ureter. Amount of blood should decrease with each passing day and also with increased fluid intake. Constant dark bloody urine or thick clots are abnormal, see urologist then.
