No comment : Cannot comment regarding need for new OB. There is clearly a need for better communication Toxoplasmosis is not transmitted from pigs - bloody or not. It IS transmitted in cat feces. Avoid that. On the other hand, trichinosis, a totally different disease, can be transmitted via undercooked pork. That COULD be a risk.

Parasitic risks: Although in USA, trichinosis is rare, it is still found on occasion. In Mexico, the main parasite is Taenia Solium, which causes cysticercosis, and is encountered in undercooked pork. Cases are seen in this country, mostly in "travelers" across the southern border. This could be diagnosed by stool O & P, soft tissue thigh X-rays, and even imaging of brain if epilepsy.

Toxoplasmosis: Although we typically think of Toxoplasmosis as being dangerous to pregnant women who handle feces of infected cats, it is also a foodborne illness. Eating undercooked contaminated meats like pork, lamb or venison can lead to infection as can ingestion of undercooked shellfish such as oysters, clams or mussels. REF: https://www.cdc.gov/parasites/toxoplasmosis/epi.html * I can't comment on OB.
