Before lab orders: It sounds like you may have iron deficient anemia. Lab orders from random physicians unaware of your detailed medical history and unable to follow up on results will not serve you best. Talk to your GP or Gyn doc about your symptoms, they will be able to discuss options and pick tests that will make sense and also act on results as needed.

Your symptoms and the ferritin levels may be due to anemia and iron deficiency.shortness of breath and palpitations are common with anemia and will resolve with treatment. Please see your local internist to get all the findings documented, and make sure you follow up as needed until all questions are answered. Also get follow up as suggested. Good luck and I wish you the best.
