I recently injured my finger a heavy object fell on it. the pain wasn't bad but now i have a hard lump and mild pain for about 2 weeks on the finger where it was hit on the middle phalange of the ring finger. is it broken or will it go away in its ow?

Imaging: A splint is indicated, and may be purchased or made by taping the third and fourth fingers together to a firm surface such as a piece of rounded plastic. An imaging study is indicated to rule out a fracture; avoid use of the finger affected. Place an ice pack on the area of pain. Please follow up to ensure proper healing.
