I have a small & hard greenish lump under the skin of my middle finger, the joint area. i discovered it two weeks ago, and now it is starting to hurt.

Nodules : This nodule is either a Heberden's nodule or a Bouchard's nodule, depending on which joint is involved. It is a harbinger of the development and of arthritis. You should get checked for rheumatoid arthritis (simple blood test). Treatment is usually NSAIDs.
