A member asked:

Not really a question but i am 37 not really unfit but not fit either and my resting heart rate is 57 is that not to low ? sorry if that sounds stupid?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Brady: You need an EKG or maybe a 24-hour monitor. The normal heart rate is above 60 and less than 100, but some athletes have a low heart rate. When considering a low heart rate I would be concerned if the patient has shortness of breath, dizziness, loss of consciousness There may be find many things to consider with a low heart rate but in many people, extensive testing reveals nothing wrong.
