Tomatoes and gout: Gout can be caused by eating a diet high in the purines. This would include organ meats, beef, lamb, alcohol, seafoods, legumes to name a few. Foods that are low in purines include tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, grains, fruits, eggs. Therefore, tomatoes and cherry tomatoes are considered good foods to eat if you have chronic issues with gout.
