Unlikely to be Cance: Most cancers would appear as a growth/swelling which keep increasing in size, if not removed within 1-2 months. Most flat lesions like you have described are either benign(may be birthmark) or precancerous(?erythroplakia?) and require regular check ups to determine if they are static or increasing in size which may indicate the need for a biopsy to make the correct diagnosis.

Probably not: At your age unless you smoke or abuse alcohol, chances of this being a cancerous lesion are practically nil. Ask your Den test to exam in. Ask if referral to specialist in Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, or Oral Pathology would be prudent.
