Occipital pain : How about with head movement? Any pain? Does motrin (if not allergic) help? For how long? Could be occipital neuralgia or cervical degenerative disease with mild nerve pinch. Cervical spine films might show disc disease . May also be from phrenic nerve (diaphragm nerve) irritation, rarely lung irritation. Consider CXR, liver function /galbladder tests/ . Follow up w/ MD for evaluation.
