Yes....: If you use melatonin every night, you need to not take it for 7 days straight every 3 months. If you do this, you will find it becomes effective again. If you are having insomnia in spite of melatonin, you should see your doctor to be certain there is not a medical issue causing your insomnia. Best of luck to you!

Tolerance: All sleep medications, including Melatonin, can gradually lose benefit over time. One solution is to stop the Melatonin for several days or even a couple weeks, and you may regain potency.
