Water diet: Water diet is not the way to lose weight.Diet and exercise are the tried and true ways. Small alterations in your life style can help. Start simply by walking and do away with your snacks of cookies or other goodies. Then seek help from your dovtor and /or a dietician.

Lose fat not water: Your goal is to lose fat not muscle or water. Try to maintain lean body mass and lose fat. Diet and exercise (cardio and strength training) is best option to lose fat.
