Evaluation: A local allergic reaction or infection is possible.. The itchiness of the eyes on both sides indicates a local ocular allergy, but the pain if associated with redness or drainage may be related to a secondary bacterial infection. Monitor temperature, rinse eyes gently with saline and use an oral antihistamine. There are ocular drops for relief of red and itchy eyes. Please see a physician.
