A member asked:

I had an appendectomy 6 weeks ago. i have a blood clotting disorder, so was given clexane for 2 weeks. 4 weeks after surgery, i had sharp pain in my outer left thigh. dr. says she is unsure, but she thinks bursitis. could it also be a blood clot?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Ah. Clexane (UK) = Lovenox (US). Sure, but with receipt of anticoagulant a collection of blood (hematoma) is more likely than a blood clot (thrombosis). Can’t be sure without a radiographic study - CT scan in US, maybe ultrasound in UK (cheaper - No money in UK - gotta’ do everything on the cheap). Regardless, get it done NOW - could be serious Best of luck
