Low blood iron: You must have lost a lot of blood during C-section to have needed blood transfusion. Management of anemia firstly with pills followed by intravenous iron was correct & need for blood transfusion was related to c-section. Side effects of iron therapy are few and far between. Side effects of oral iron pills are constipation or other bowel symptoms. IV iron & transfusions can cause immediate reaction
